Poseidon (Roman name of Neptune) was one of the brothers of Zeus the chief of gods and goddesses of Olympus. Poseidon was born from Cronos, who is famous for castrating his own father, Uranus. Because of Cronos swallowing his children at their birth, Rhea, his sister/wife, prevented this by giving Cronos stones covered with blankets. Through this way, Rhea gave birth to Zeus after his five older siblings were eaten by Cronos. Although Cronos found about this and tried to pursue Zeus, he was failed because Rhea handed Zeus to Gaea who hid him in a deep cave with nymphs to take care of Zeus. When Zeus grew up to a man, he sought his revenge against his father Cronos. When he put an emetic potion, which he mixed with Cronos's honeyed drink, Cronos threw up all of five siblings of Zeus: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hadres, and Poseidon. All of the siblings decided that Zeus should be a leader against the following war against Titans
